"I... thanks." He said in a tired voice. Shale glanced up, tilting his head and giving a sincere smile. "I promise to try and catch my own food."

"Not quite done yet." Soro said. "You can stay permanantely if you wish, on the condtions that when you get better, you will hunt, and fight as part of the pack, and risk your life for the pack." He continued.

He stared at him for a moment, in shock. A pack? No one ever wanted me in their pack...

"I... of course!" Shale blurted, eyes wide. "Thank you, Soro... I-I've never been in a pack before. Not counting the family pack that ...kind of disowned me and my siblings."

Rip dashed after a large furry thing. She grabbed the furry thing and bit it's leg hard. She dropped it and watched it limp a little bit, then took it home. "Are you hungry babies? I brought play food," she called to the chick.

Evo and the other chicks charged the injured furry thing

"Remember, always go for the neck. Hold it down and use your switch-blade claws to cut open it's neck," Rip told her children.

Soro watched. "Or if you can pin it, go for the stomach with the claw, spill the insides!" He called over as the chicks tried these tactics.

Shale watched with a bemused expression, tilting his head.

Evo didn't understand why he couldn't cut the neck or stomach, he let the others finish the kill he walked away years running down his face

Rip went after him, "Whats the matter baby?" she asked.

Soro followed. He knew why their second adopted child was upset.

"I can't kill furry thing my claws not sharp enough"he replied sadly

[Grep42]

"Oh, I see," Rip said. She knew just what the matter was, he has to hunt like a oviraptor not a velociraptor. "You just have to find another way to hunt than the others. Maybe you could bite with your strong beak, or hold it down for your siblings to kill,"

Soro thought for a second. Then it hit him and began searching through bushes. Sure enough, he found a small mound, and in it, lizard eggs, which SHOULD be small enough for the oviraptor to try and break, but he wasn't sure. He managed to move one back down without breaking it and set it in front of the oviraptor. "Break it open." Soro said, looking down and the small raptor.

"Ok"Evo replied happily he bit the egg as hard as he could the shell shattered under the force of his beak
