Cretaceous Mongolia Roleplay

[Grep42]

Rip smiled at him. Faintly, she could hear some commotion and smell theizosaurus blood. And tarbosaurus. It gave her the chills, knowing that nearby where the cold blooded killers who wrecked her first family. She was a little jumpy all morning.

[dinoman]

Soro decided to go on a quick hunt for himself and Rip while the chicks ate the rodents. He soon found what the whole family needed. An injured homalochepalae was wandering right towards the den. He followed it for about an hour where it reached the den and saw Rip. It turned to run up the dune that faced the den entrance, but all it saw and heard before it was killed and went rolling back down the dune was Soro screeching and leaping at it, claws and teeth at the ready.

"Good catch," Rip congratulated him, "we've been needing a good meal." The chicks ran over and started feasting on the meat immediately.

[dinoman]

"Worth waiting and seeing if life will be kind or cruel." Soro said, waiting for the chicks to finish and waiting for Rip to come join him.

[Grep42]

Rip came over as soon as the chicks had their fill. She always let them eat first. She chewed on it a bit, but she more of focused on whether or not something huge would come from behind the dunes.

Soro noticed Rip hardly eating. "Two things. One: What's wrong? And two, I didn't stalk this thing for an hour to be nibbled on, don't make me force feed you." Soro said, the second part being in a joking manner.

[Grep42]

"Oh, it's just everytime I let my guard down, something goes wrong. Theres been large predators about, and I'm still worried," she replied.

[dinoman]

"Don't worry, we'll be fine...We've been through attacks before, and look at us, we're doing alright." Soro said, nuzzling into Rip.

[Grep42]

She smiled at him. "Well, ok. I'm still going to be on the look out though," Rip said. She actually ate a bit before going back to the rock where she watched.

[dinoman]

"Good." Soro said and watched as the chicks began to hunt insects and lizards, some succeeding, some failing horribly.

[Alpha Ridley]

Scarface sniffed the sand for a scent trail. But there was nothing. Ever since he lost the lake to a Nemegtosaurus herd, he has been starving.

Amber chirped quietly as she laid down to take a nap.

Omega scanned the area for prey. Still nothing. Alpha had taken a rest from chasing a Saurolophus juvenile.

Nothing that dangerous came by that day. A pterosaur or two flew by, those picked up chicks, but nothing else. Rip slept better than usual that night.

[dinoman]

Soro sat on top of a sand dune and looked around, all night, and noticed something moving toward their position, ambling slowly to the den. "Oh no..." He muttered. By the mornining, they were really close. A giant herd of maybe sixty migrating therizinosaurus. Soro had gone to warn Rip and move the chicks up the hill during the night.

"Theizosaurs, those dumb walking claws. Why did they have to migrate now," Rip complianed as she urged the tired chicks on, "now where are we gonna go?"

[dinoman]

Soro watched as a therizinosaur just walked over the den and caved it in, much to the surprise of the herbivore. "Not back there." Soro muttered. "If we're going to move, let's move now." He said as the last of the herd passed.
