Kuda cracked her eyes open. Was it the Titanis? She turned her head, shaking. No, it was the mammoth. She knew she would be squashed any second now, so she squeezed her eyes shut.


The cubs saw their mother on the ground, and the mammoth! They couldn't look, so they turned their heads to a hyenadon!

Soro trumpeted and picked up the cat in his trunk, then set it on its feet as best he could before turning and walking away.

Fonx went over to the den, and tried to stick her head in. Seeing the cubs, she tried to get her head out so she could dig them out. Uh oh she thought. Fonx's head was stuck in the hole.

The cubs backed up as the hyenadon stuck it's head in. Guapo decided to tease it.
"Na na! You can't get us!!! Lalalalalala!" he teased.
Belleza though he went mad.
'Stop!" she she said through her teeth, nudging him.

Fonx snapped her jaws. "You cats and your little tricks. Ow! If only me head weren't so big, I'd be in here riping you apart," she growled.

Guapo laughed and continued teasing. This was great! Teasing a predator! Ha!

Fonx growled low, and with a final tug was free. She clawed at the den, breaking the entrance wide enough for here enormus jaws.

Soro returned to grazing, nonchalant, he had yet to have quarrels with hyenadons.

Guapo wasn't laughing now. He ran to the back, into his hole with Belleza on his tail. They immediately begun digging away.


Kuda opened one eye. It seemed to have returned to grazing. Whew! But she still couldn't get up.

Fang walked through the grasslands, hungry for some kind of food. He noticed a hyenadon digging into a den, and an unconcious saber. The hyenadon was more of a threat because it was still up and in his territory. He roared loudly and charged, stopping a few feet away from the large dog...thing, and roared at it again.

Fonx whiped around and made an odd cross between a roar and a bark. She snapped her jaws together, and more or less ran at him.

Fang roared and backed away, swiping his front paws at the hyenadon in case it did get too close.

The two cubs heard roaring, and immediatly thought it was their mother.
"Mom! Help!" they yelled.

Kuda heard roaring. Her cubs? They did THAT??

Fonx turned around and tried to snap up the cubs, then turned again to try to bite the saber tooth. She was getting more and more angry and confused.

"BAD DOG!" Fang yelled and leapt at the hyenadon when it turned, trying to sank his fangs into something like its neck.
