Cretaceous Mongolia Roleplay

Soro looked up at the branches. "I may have feathers Rip, but I'm not a bird." He said and layed down at the base of the tree, curling up.

[Grep42]

Rip replied, "Suit yourself, but my chicks are going to be tree climbers." She helped the one armed chick up before settling in one of the lower branches. Just like home she thought.

Soro rolled his eyes. "Fine, but our grandchildren will be normal ground-bound raptors." He called up before falling asleep.

[Grep42]

Rip smiled smugly and went to sleep. The next morning, she woke up Soro. "It's time we get some fresh meat, the chicks will stay in the tree."

[dinoman]

Soro opened his eye slowly. "Five more minutes." He muttered, but then his brain kicked in and he got up before Rip unleashed her wrath upon him. "Okay, as far as I know, there are protoceratops and prenocheplae in the area...So...which is less likely to injure or kill us?" He asked, smirking.

[Grep42]

"We should get protoceratops, we're pretty good at catching that," Rip replied.

[dinoman]

Soro nodded and looked up at the tree. "Have fun scouting them out." He muttered.

[Grep42]

Rip climbed up to some of the higher branches. She probally wouldn't be alble to see the prey, but she could smell them. "That way, they're close enough," she said.

[dinoman]

Soro nodded and jogged forward. He crested a hill and found a herd of about ten protoceratops, one was being affected by the heat. It was stumbling a lot and groaning, and looked almost dried up. Soro growled and crouched down behind a bush, watching patiently.

Rip hid in front, her usual position. She waited for Soro to give the chase.

Soro burst out from behind the bush, screeching loudly. The sudden attack panicked the protoceratops anf they ran. The sick one, tried to face Soro, snapping at him with its beak, leaving its back exposed.

[Grep42]

Rip waited a moment before joining. She snapped and clawed at the weak animal. Eventually, she killed it by striking with her switch-blade claw.

Soro leapt onto the herbivore's face upon Rip's attack, slicing at it and blinding it. He leapt off when it died and said nothing, just ate.

Rip ate some, and grabbed a slab to bring back home. "Something the matter? You're awfully quiet,"she said after a moment.

[dinoman]

"Thinking." Soro muttered, grabbing a piece of meat before returning to their hopefully temporary nest.
