The guides said that the game continues without me, and I don't know how fast or slow the game is. I don't want to play for half an hour, return in 24 hours, or maybe 36-48 hours and find that I'm losing the game because I'm not checking it every 6 hours. How often should I play this game? Does it require constant monitoring, or is it more flexible...? None of the guides have mentioned this, except once, which was warning me that the game would continue without me.

How long can I be away from the game without "dieing"?

It is probably a glitch or somthing.

It goes on without you, but your character does not age. If you log out as a chick, you'll still be a chick until the next time you come on. It's the NPCs continue to age. You won't start losing from not being online.

However, if you're a female and you log out when you've got a mate, your mate will forget you've ever existed, but you'll still be pregnant when you log on. If you're a male and you log out, and your mate is pregnant, she will suddenly have a random abortion and not be pregnant anymore. If you're either gender and have babies of any kind, your mate will continue to take care of them and they will grow or die, depending on the circumstances, and you will not receive the points because you are not on. If you've got a nest, that nest will continue degrading without you there to repair it.

But all that can be easily redone and won't result in your death.
