Marking Territory

Hey guys, Kitty here.
So, I was playing as a fox, making my nest and stuff.
When I noticed there was a bear and a wolf around me. So I peed everywhere to mark my territory, hoping they'd go away.
When I came back outside of the log, there was 3 wolves, a coyote, and two bears.
My plan back fired and what's worse is that they didn't go away!
As I type this they're taking over my log.
Does marking your territory actually bring in more?

If you're a small, easily preyed-on animal, like a young fox [I, in fact, enjoy eating juvenile foxes in summer] marking your territory can in fact attract larger animals into your space. I'm pretty sure I've heard alot of people who have played small animals say marking their territory attracts predators.
I may be assuming things, but I hope this helps.
Also, Kenya has to tell you something about where this topic should be placed.

(Nope, Chuck Testa.)
No worries, I'll move it.
Thank you for the answer, Scarikas.

I've never bothered with territory marking, but after reading that. I don't think I will :3

Hmm. As a Condor I always made dirt (solid waste) outside my cave and no hawk or other bird has ever came in to steal my chicks, as far as I can remember. So I though it would have been pretty useful marking territory. But say, if your an animal with good combat and then you mark your territory, the results would probably be quite different. It depends on your strength and health, I guess. It's like in the wild, only the toughest and the best can make it ;] And if you're a big animal with full combat, predators beware.

As a fox, i always mark my territory, i always mark an area including, large areas of food - grass - fruit and water, i always have full combat so i guess this helps.
i allways thought that territory markings keep other FOXES away from your area... i knew wolves, bears, coyotes and bobcats will come in anyway....
