Based on a true story.
Characters
(Made Up Names)
Robin (Me)
Chase (Mate)
Venom (Snake)
Omlette (Chick M)
Eggzilla (Chick M)
Shilo Jr. (Chick F)
Hammy (Chick M)
As any other bluebird, it was time to have eggs. It was one of life's many challenges. Robin was determined to be the best mother she could. She worked on her nest day and night until it filled her tree hole. Her mate, Chase was a big help and also had a goal to be a great parent. When her eggs were ready to be hatch, Robin stayed close to the nest while Chase searched for food. One day, just before Robin was ready to lay, a king snake entered the nest. "Venom" Robin cried and darted out of the nest. Chase did the same. Robin entered the nest to see if he had left. He had, she called Chase back in but he did not come. She left the nest and saw him far away. He never came back... night after night Robin was forced to fend for her chicks and for herself. To any other animal this proved a challenge but to Robin, it was an adventure! Except for one night. She was collecting seeds and saw some beetles not far from her nest. As she swooped down a snake got the chance to bit her with it's venomous fangs. She was badly hurt. She wasn't able to fly, as she took her last breath she fell to the ground after her last attempt to fly to her nest. She lay motionless leaving the chicks to fend for themselves.
