Nova surpressed a smile and rested herhead on the grass. "Well, I guess you can call me Nova." She paused for a moment, "Y'know. space super-novas? stars exploding? I was ... aahh.. named after that," the black wolf murmured, "y'know. cuz of my eyes..." and the rest of my body when I get really ticked off. She mentally added, ears twitching and her eerie pupil-less eyes watched the light bounce off the grass and leaves.

(I'll make it night))

Skyeler woke up. She breathed the nice midnight air. Now, she thought, for that squirrel. She flew out of her hole in the tree and started searching the forest.

((xD Smart owl. Looking for a black-furred squirrel. At night. Great idea.))

Scuttle gave a blank look when Nova explained her name. She was named after exploding stars? Stars were twinkly. Occasionally they exploded... in your eyes... when you're knocked nearly unconscious. (Scuttle knew that because she'd banged her head on a tree before.) So basically, Nova was named after a headache? Ouch. Tough luck.

Though she had little idea what that had to do with her flaming eyeballs.

She looked around. It was evening, and would be night soon. "...Y'mind if I sleep next t'ya?" She was thinking of snakes. Snakes don't go near wolves. Especially those protective of squirrels. It was still funny, when she thought about it, how the wolf was keeping her safe, even though she'd normally make a good tidbit for itself... "Thanks." She scuttled closed to the wolf, pressing herself under its belly best she could, then curling up, her bushy tail curling up to cover her nose.

Whil she slept, she dreamt of Nova exploding into fireballs, then hanging themselves on the sky, before firing themselves at an owl. It was amusing. she smiled. Then she dreamt of a sand-mouse. It then was attacked by a snake, who got grit and sand in its mouth. Because it was sand. So the snake had to hiss irritated, away. Then it got eaten by a cat. And Scuttle herself appeared in iron knight armor, all fearless and jumping from tree to tree, fighting goblins.

She gave the squirrel a look and frowned slightly, resisting the urge to move away. The wolf hated being touched. Hated affection. Hated it when things curled up beside her. Crinkling her nose, she rested her head in the grass and sighed grumpily. She also hated the way her blue fur-markings, eyes and tongue glowed softly at night, giving away her position. Nova grudgingly closed her eyes and willed herself to sleep.

((I have a strong urge two draw these guys. mostly Nova and Scuttle in the position they're in atm <3333

(Not if she looks for glowing markings. ;) )
Skyeler was about to give up, when she saw blue markings glowing below. She was frightened, but came closer. She saw- a wolf! The same wolf from earlier. She looked more, but even closer. She could see the black squirrel, but very faintly. She his behind leaves, and made soft caws, hoping it would wake up one of the other, but not both.

((I changed Scuttle's picture to one I like better. The squirrel was larger than I expected... :) ))

The squirrel frowned, puzzled, in her sleep. A cawing owl appeared in her dream. That wasn't right. Owls didn't caw. She ran it through with her twig-sword, and it dropped to the ground, a bloody, dead mess. Much better. She jumped up into the black blanket that was the night sky, holding onto it. She had to, because now the forest was on fire! Time for survival skills... dun dun dun... fear pounding in her vains, she tried to swallow her nervousness and be more knight-like, but her armor felt like it was weighing her down! It dropped off of her person, and now, she was just herself, hanging onto a black cloth above to avoid the flames below.

What an exciting dream...! What will happen next?!

Scuttle tensed, but didn't otherwise stir in her rest.

When she saw cawing wasn't working, she tried chirping. A harmless little bird would wake her up to a nightmare.

Nova cracked open an eye, finally giving into the annoying bird that had interupted her restless sleep. "goddang birds" she growled softly, shifting slightly.

Once she noticed the wolf was awake, she went away slightly, and chirped a bit louder. She was determined for that squirrel!

Glaring darkly at the sound, she practically squished the squirrel as she moved to her feet. Eyes glowing a harsh blue, she walked from the shaded area and growled, eyes narrowed suspisously.

Skyeler smirked, then flew to a farther branch, quiet as air, then chirped even louder.

The sound of a faint snicker echoe in the still air as she lowered her head, lips pulled into a snarl. "Owl, Owl come out where I can see you." she cooed, looking in the direction of the chirping.

The owl was quiet for a moment, then spoke, "Oh, I cannot do that," she said, in a soft echoing voice, "You're just a young pup, and cannot understand the mystery of and owl's.." she stopped a moment for dramatic effect, to frighten the wolf, "Surprise!" she said and rustled some leaves behind where the wolf was, then hid behind thick leaves.

She blankly stared at the bushes, eyebrows furrowing.

Was the darned thing trying to spook me by rustling bushes? Apparently so. No... no wait-! It was getting closer to the squirrel she'd left unattended!

Skyeler slowly made her way to the squirrel. She had gotten there unharmed, and planned on leaving that way, but with a very harmed squirrel. Her talons craved the blood of that squirrel, but she knew she must wait for the perfect time.
