Rip looked up at the male, doing the most eye-catching display she had ever seen. She stood up and nodded at the male.
"I'm Rip," was the basic message.

"Soro." He replied as he continued to strut, trying to keep the Rip interested, she could change her mind at any time.

"You have a territory?" she asked. Rip knew he was a good male, but she didn't know if he actually had anything important like a territory or hunting skills.

"Not exactly, because it was an arm's race to survive so a territory w here would've done me no good, but somewhere around here would be good, there's plenty of prey." He said, the last part more to himself. "Of course, I could establish now, with a little help..." He said, gazing at the female.

"Well, I don't have a territory anymore either," she replied, "I can stay with you if you want."

Soro nodded. "I suppose that's doable." He said in a false annoyed tone. "Well, if your going to stay with me, let's get a move on, land needs to be established, and the sooner we get it, the better the land." He said before turning and jogging off.

"Lead on." Rip ran after him.

Soro began searching the surroundings. Most of the prey was either hardy, fast or large, but a territory had to be full of prey to sustain the predators. Soro soon found a suitable plot, which had a herd of protoceratops, a herd of prenocheplae and homalochepelae, and a herd of gallimimus.

Rip looked around. "This'll do," she said and began making claim to the area.

Soro nodded and began making the claim as well.

Unconsciously, as she explored the territory, she was also searching for a nest site. Anything sheltered from the heat of the day, and the cold of the night would do. There! A shallow burrow that was nestled under a tree. She went into it, it was about five feet deep, with a small entrance. Rip nodded to herself, and went off, remembering the location carefully.

Soro soon heard a screech and found two other velociraptors, a male and female, beginning to to enter the territory. Soro charged forward and stopped short of the pair, screeching and holding out his hand claws to make himself look more threatening. The pair didn't fall for it and began to advance, but cautiously.

Rip heard Soro's screech and went to see what was the matter. There was another velociraptor couple, and one of them was Snap. She ran after them, making sure they left.

Soro tackled the male to the ground and bit him on the maw and sank his claw into the male's thigh before letting him go off, his new mate gaining a slight advantage. Soro screeched at them again before shaking to get dust off his feathers. "Thanks." He said to Rip as he looked at the small blood trail.

"No problem," she replied. It was time to test his hunting ability, she deiced. Rip trotted to where some protoceratops were grazing, taking a position at the rear of the herd.
