I used to have a friend that had pet chickens. You could set them on your lap and pet them. xD

My neighbors have chickens and my parents are thinking about getting me one of 2!

And it's illegal here to, but they aren't bothering anyone.

Not sure if it would be worth the inconvenience. All it takes is one grumpy neighbor reporting you, and then you can wave goodbye to your chickens. :/

I think Summerbreeze was being sarcastic, or it was just a typo.

By friendly, she probably means that the cat is 'friendly' towards the gerbil.
In the not-so-good way.
Meaning, the gerbil might become cat food.
We used to have a hamster who always got out of her cage and found the mouse glue traps. e.e My mom had to use scissors to cut off the fur whenever it happened.. usually took over an hour.

because loosing a beloved pet is heartbraking. I have a younger sister. Her hamster died a few weeks ago. It was not wise to try to take away that which your sibling love. No matter how annoying they can be... It is a sibblings duty to be annoying yet loving at the same time. Hoping that her gerbil dies is not going to be good for you or her.

Adding to what animal said:
Unless the pet is not a really nice one(like it bites everyone or something). If that is the case, talk to the family about rehoming it.
My cats always tried to eat our hamsters. .-. Out of the 4 hamsters I've had so far, I only really bonded with one of them, Brandon. The other tree were Brandon's brother, Brendel(he was the first to die by cancer), and then later we got full-grown albino Ruby(She hated any human contact) and then after they all died we got the fourth, a dwarf named Seeda. She was bullied by her cagemate at petsmart so we took her in, but she bit anyone who tried to touch her. :/ Brandon liked people, Brendel avoided us most of the times, Ruby was terrified of us all, and then Seeda drew blood every chance she got. =_= Silly devil hamsters.
