This times infinity. Except Blaze is my first and my only. :3Døøm Dragøn wrote:Hey watch it. I hate how much heat and a bad rap the poor pitbull has. Yes, other breeds like the rottweiler and doberman. I have been around a few rottweilers and they are sweet dogs and great pets if trained well. I'm sure the same goes for doberman. Those dogs tend to only bond with a single person, so keep that in mind.€hrysalisΨolfHer☼ wrote:This times infinity. Except Blaze is my first and my only. :3Døøm Dragøn wrote:Hey watch it. Not directed to anyone: I'd just like to be a nerd and say that it's NOT only pit bulls that MAY attack. And it's NOT only pit bulls that get a bad reputation.![]()
Ehhh band camp in two weeks I dun wanna.
I refuse not to blame dogfighters/abusers.Quagga wrote:Part is due to what the breeds have been bred for, as well as a dog's personality. The other bit is due to the owners and those around the dog, how the dog has been cared for, what it's been trained in, etc. A stranger-dog won't take too kindly to a human assuming a dominant position, even if by accident; sometimes it's the misunderstanding and the lack of knowledge on the human's part.
But, I refuse to blame either dog or human.
Pit bulls are terriers, which were/are pest controllers; hunters of sorts. So, naturally (and not JUST because they're terriers) they're not bred to have the sweetest, most docile 'kitten-like' personalities ever. Blaze is the best dog I could ask for, but I'm not dumb enough to leave him unattended with small or just rowdy children. However, being bred for hunting is not nearly the same as being bred to be human aggressive (and even if it did mean that, every dog still has its unique personality; you said your pit bulls haven't hurt anyone). I'm not denying that pit bulls can (or have) kill people, or that SOME pit bulls do have a more aggressive personality, (and 'aggressive' is sometimes too strong a word: Blaze's mother is over protective, and her owner only keeps her because she's in no way suitable for a family life, and he doesn't want her to be a fighting dog or put down; and THAT'S dedication my friends), I'm just complaining that when people say 'Onoez stay away from the pitbull itz so dangerous DURRHURR' it's pretty much stating the obvious, plus the fact that ALL dogs can inflict damage when provoked.Ayashe wrote:I'm pretty sure Pitbulls were bred for war, so if provoked, can and will hurt someone. They aren't meant for people with small children, as many dogs aren't. Pitbulls do have a reputation which I think is kind of stupid, since I've had two Pitbulls and neither of them ever hurt anything or anyone. That still doesn't deem them completely harmless as some say. They have the power to inflict damage.
My grandma breeds bulldogs those big wrinckly chubby dogs. they look mean but there such sweetys! I love playing with the baby puppys and there super cute and soft!Ayashe wrote:I'm pretty sure Pitbulls were bred for war, so if provoked, can and will hurt someone.
