The elder's head lifted. It was Jaypaw with a delivery. "How kind of you, Jaypaw." He commented, gathering the herbs near him. Tornear gazed at Jaypaw for a second as if he was reading right through him. "Thank you for the delivery. Have a good day, and don't worry about my bed. Do your duties first, I should be the least of your worries." He smiled kindly, then carefully chewed on the medicine. He knew nothing of them, and so he made sure to store a few so he could take them at night.

The yellow warrior looked to see Wolfeye giving him a comment. He kindly smiled back and said "Thank you." Turning back to look in front of him was his adorable apprentice, ready to learn something today. "Well, Dawnpaw. What is it that you would like to learn today?" He gave the option for her to tell him as she seemed very excited about something.

Jaypaw shrugged at the compliment. "I haven't got much to do," he said simply. "If you need anything, Leafpool's in her, and I'll be back in a few hours." He turned around and bounded outside, careful not to bump into anyone. He was used to being blind, but it still left him feeling vulnerable. He set about looking for pimpernel (good for eye diseases) and bilberry fruit (good for eyesight). After gathering some of each, he went to the river to see if he could find any water mint. Jaypaw remembered what had happened the other day, and sat down, allowing everything around him to slow down. He seldom did this, it felt like he went into some kind of trance. His senses would grow sharper, and things would slow down. He would pause everything, until he caught up with all the things that went on. Jaypaw sniffed, and a familiar scent washed over him.

Foxpaw ran into the woods, he was full of excitement and confusion at the same time. He had got a prophecy! The apprentice stopped running, he was close to Fourtrees. He would hunt for some rodents here, if he could. The fox-like cat bent into a crouch and listened for the sound of tiny paw scraping along the forest floor. The sound of a bird chirping caught his attention and a mouse slid under some leaves. The apprentice snapped back to focus and pounced. He landed on the mouse and he sank his fangs into the small but plump mouse. The mouse went limp and Foxpaw dug a hole and covered the mouse in dirt so he could find it later. He was determined to become a great apprentice, Foxpaw was excited to show Firestar his first catch.

Fishpaw looked at the sky, it was almost sun-high and she was on dawn patrol. She padded over to see Bluestripe and Halftooth. Halftooth nodded to the apprentice and Bluestripe licked his apprentice on the head.
"Come on now Fishpaw," Bluestripe said in a gentle tone. The three padded off to the river.
Fishpaw quickly could hear the same apprentice from yesturday and she looked around for an excuse to run along ahead.
"Uh, Bluestripe, Halftooth. Is it okay if I go on ahead? It would be good for me to discover the rest of the territory myself. I'll be careful!"
"Hm... Halftooth, what do you think."
"If it's okay with you. Your her mentor."
"Alright Fishpaw. Don't go far."
"Thanks!" Fishpaw leaped away so she could warn the Thunderclan apprentice.

((OOC: Alex, get on lex's xat! o3o))

Dawnpaw purred when another warrior, Wolfeye, complimented Thunderstrike's catch. I'll be able to hunt like that one day! When she heard Thunderstrike ask her what she wanted to do, she let out a squeak of excitement as she ran through all the possibilities. Then her fur picked with embarrassment. Apprentices don't squeal like kits!
The brown tabby composed herself and thought for a moment. What would benefit her most today? Her ears perked at a thought she'd had earlier.
"I'd like to see the territory," her small voice betrayed the anticipation she felt at the thought of finally seeing what lay beyond the confines of camp. Then her fur fluffed up in indignation. Foxpaw had just ran right into the woods! She looked at her mentor, green eyes wide and paws kneading the ground.

Ravenfeather was watching the waking camp from the shadow of the brambles that walled the camp in. The sight of little Dawnpaw tugged at his heart. She looked so much like their mom...
Getting swiftly to his paws, the dark tom padded quietly over to the camp entrance. His ears twitched at Dawnpaw's mew about leaving camp, and thought about joining the two so he could hunt along the way. Then he remembered when he had glared at the apprentice and decided he could hunt alone.

Foxpaw looked around and saw a bird perched quietly in a tree, he could climb up the tree and catch the bluebird! Foxpaw smiled and stalked toward the tree. He carefully jumped onto the tree then jumped branch to branch so he could reach the branch the bird was perched on. He took a quiet pawstep toward the bird then pounced. The bird quickly flew off but Foxpaw leaped and grabbed the bird by the tail then fell to the forest ground. He bit into the bird and swiftly killed it but his hind leg ached from falling. He decided he could get Leafpool or Jaypaw to check it later once he brought the mouse and bird back to camp first he wanted to explore the territory then take a nap on sunningrocks. He dug a hole for the bird (hehe, a grave!) and buried it beneath the soil to fetch later.

Tornear watched the medicine cat apprentice leave. Tornear would be laying here for a long time until he felt satisfied enough to go stretch and hunt a little.

Thunderstrike smiled from the adorableness portrayed right in front of him. He definitely had a soft heart for excited apprentices. He turned to face the woods and looked back to meet Dawnpaw's eyes. "We shall do so then. However I want you to stay close to me, as you never know what may happen. I will show you the way to the Great Sycamore, since that's closest. This tree has served many apprentices well in terms of learning how to climb and even stalking." He said as he began to walk into the woods. "Actually, let's go see Thunderpath real quick while we're on our way there. It's what borders us between ShadowClan."

Dawnpaw gives a little wriggle of excitement and bounces after her mentor, but she pays heed to his warning and sticks close to him as they pad through the trees. An image of a large tree forms in her mind as she listens to his description of the landmark. The thought of climbing intrigues her. Her ears twitch at the word 'Thunderpath' and again at 'ShadowClan'. Dawnpaw has a million questions about the two things, but keeps quiet as they travel. At first the thought of going anywhere near ShadowClan scares her, even though she's not sure why. Maybe it was the way the queens and elders spoke of them as dark cats that would not hesitate to attack other clans, but she couldn't be sure. Her tail twitched wearily and she caught herself practically hiding behind Thunderstrike by the time they reached the Thunderpath. The little she-cat puffs herself up and pads forward boldly to stand beside him now and study the black surface. "Why does it smell like that?" she mews, wrinkling her nose in distaste.

The yellow warrior's eyes widened a little. "You may want to back up. Two-leg eaters are around this path. They will kill you or severely injure you in a heartbeat." As soon as he said that, a two-leg eater came zooming past, wind picking up as it made him sheath his claws and bury them into the ground. "Beyond there is ShadowClan territory. Take a minute to recognize their scent. Each clan has a different smell. The smell is faint, but it's good enough for now." Thunderstrike wanted to be as moderate as he could, as he didn't want to corrupt the apprentice with opinionated things.

Dawnpaw pressed herself low to the ground as the large shiny thing went whipping past, faster than anything she'd ever seen. The little apprentice tried to stay calm but couldn't stop from shaking slightly. She kept well away from the black surface afterwards.
She did as Thunderstrike instructed and parted her jaws to taste the scent of ShadowClan. At first all she could only smell the acrid stench of the Thunderpath, but behind that was an even odder smell. She snapped her jaws shut, sneezing. "Yuck!" What a disgusting way to smell! How do they stand their own odor?
"Do all the clans smell so horrible? Besides us, of course."

Thunderstrike watched Dawnpaw as she scented the air. "Not really. Some Clans kind of smell like what they eat or what they live around. I don't really know why ShadowClan smells like this. I've never been on their territory before. I'm sure Tornear would have a little information about that, though. His family has hated them for generations." The warrior turned around and slid back into the wooded area. "We shall head to the Great Sycamore now. The tree is large and very tall. If you'd like, I can let you practice climbing on it. The pathway to it is maybe 3 times longer than this."

Dawnpaw nodded and tipped her head to the side a bit. "Why does he hate them?" she asked, padded after him quietly.

Whoa, looks like I've got some catching up to do!

Jaypaw looked up sharply. It was that RiverClan apprentice again! He got up, irritation clearly showing in his blind blue eyes. He was a ThunderClan medicine cat, and he was still on his side of the territory. What was wrong about that? Medicine cats are allowed to go anywhere! Grumbling, he dipped a paw in the water and nipped off another few water mint stems and added them to his pile. He thought about getting some hawthorn, which was good for anxiety and sleep, and also some red clover, good for calming, coughs and nervous exhaustion. Of course, he wasn't predicting that something might happen to cause shock to the Clan, but he wanted to keep them, just in case. Since cat mint was rather rare, and you had to go to twoleg gardens for it, he started conjuring up an idea in his head.

Wolfeye's thoughts quickly turned back to Jaypaw. She worried about him, being blind, not knowing the territory too well... She'd always felt that it was her duty to look after him and watch over him like a guardian. Jaypaw is her nephew, but ever since they'd separated from their family, he became like a son to her. Either way, they were each others only kin. She started to track him down, promising herself she'd hunt on the way.

Thunderstrike stopped for a second. "His family has a long line of warriors. He told me the story while I was an apprentice. Back then, he was a powerful warrior with quick decisions." He started to walk again, his eyes laying low as he attempts to remember every detail of the story he was told. "I don't remember the names now, but a generation or two ago, one of his family members became a deputy. It was a very proud moment. After generations and generations of being warriors, one was finally a deputy in their family line. He was kind of like Tornear in a way. He told me that one day that deputy was murdered overnight by a ShadowClan cat. That cat was never traced down, but the scent coming from the deupty was full of ShadowClan, and the cat took a quick blow behind the neck, which is a dishonorable skill. The only thing they could conclude from the scene is that the deputy may have heard something overnight and looked to see what it was. His body was left in the woods, and that's where they found him." The yellow warrior fell silent and jumped over a few fallen logs. "We're almost there." He said as he took another direction, which was out of the wooded area. "From here you can see the top of the tree. It's also close to Snakerocks. That place is pretty dangerous, so we'll stay on the opposite side of that."

Fishpaw spotted the apprentice in the same spot from the other day.
"Uh... hi! I don't mean to bother you. It's just that I'm training and my mentor and a friend of his isn't far away. They would be really mad if they saw a cat even a bit close to Riverclan. You know how my leader hates Thun-" she stopped for a moment and sniffed the air. "Uh... you better get going... NOW!!" he yelled the hissed slightly. She knew Bluestripe was heading this way with Halftooth.
