Soro stared. "I mean the carcass." He said before grabbing it and pulling.

Ther roared angrily and swiped his claws at the Alioramus.

(Opps, ignore my last post about Rip then.)
Rip grabbed on and tugged the carcass.

Grey opened her mouth wide and tried to clamp down on one of the monster's huge claws.

Soro began pulling, it was slow progress.

Ther bellowed and tried to pull from the alioramus. The other therizinosaurs began to approach, bellowing and swinging their claws. The two younger males were attacking the young.

They eventually got it a good distance from the den, not too far, not too close. Rip hid it carefully in a thicket.

Grey let go and ushered her children away. It was no use battling these creatures.

Soro ran back just in time to see a furry thing checking out the den entrance. He grabbed it in his maw and shook it around, slicing it with tooth and claw until it was dead. He left it there and hurried inside. Nothing damaged.

Ther and the others watched as the predators retreated. They returned to browsing from the bushes.

"Good catch," Rip said. She went back down into the den to check on the eggs. There were chirping noises coming from the eggs.

Grey got her family a good distance from the herd before she went to check their wounds. Tam had a good scratch on his side, Kaw was dazed from a blow to the head, and Gore had a bite mark on his arm. She let them rest a little before moving on.

Soro nodded before he heard the noises. He lowered his head to the nest and sniffed the eggs. Soon, there was a crack, and an egg cracked, then a small hole. After a struggle. A chick appeared. Tiny with wet, downy feathers. Two more followed. The forth was shaking, but the chick inside must've been having problems. He remembered this egg. The female oviraptor had hit it when she broke in. Soro cracked the egg with his claw and the baby raptor took it from there, but there was a problem with it.

Ther soon noticed the two young males trying to court the young female of the herd. They were too young and Ther chastised them while the female left.

Rip sniffed the odd one axtiously. The others seemed fine, but this one seemed weird somehow. Shaking her head, she nudged them all closer to herself to warm them.

Soro saw it on the chick's left side. "He's missing an arm." He muttered to Rip. "It must've been damaged in development during the oviraptor attack."

Rip bit her lip. "That makes sense. Most raptor mothers wouldn't do this, but I'll keep him," she replied. Normally, a deformed chick would be abandoned or eaten.

Soro nodded. "We'll see what happens." He muttered.

"The others seem strong, at least." It was true, the others all looked healthy. Looking down at them made her want to barf, but in a good way.

Soro had a similar urge, but the "barf" would keep them alive until they developed more.

Rip fed them, and they stopped their crying and went to sleep. She cleaned them carefully, paying special attention to the one with the missing arm.

Soro nuzzled each chick before looking out of the den. The sun was disspearing on the horizon. Soro backed away fromt the entrance. Who knew what stalked the desert at night?

The herd was laying down to rest. The two males were being arrogant and independent, and therefore tucked away farther from the herd.
