"Yes, haven't you heard of them? If there's no holes or thickets, but plenty of trees, you can weave a nest in branches," she replied.

"I've never heard of a raptor doing it." Soro said as he broke into his own egg and ate the small embryo and the yolk sack inside. "I did hear about a raptor building her nest in a riverbed before the rainy season. Twenty eggs were floating down river a week later." He said. "And they were all fished out by any carnivore that saw them within five minutes."

"My mother moved me to a tree nest when I was still very young, it's possible," she replied, biting into her own.

Soro shrugged. "Well I'm not risking it unless you want the possibility of them falling and becoming scrambled eggs instead of raptor eggs." He said, poking his head out. Nothing was around.

"Nah, that tree is too flimsy. Maby if we see a good, thick one," Rip said. She had never had oviraptor eggs, they were delicious!

Soro turned around. "How about this. I'm not wasting needed energy to climb a piece of wood. Then there was a loud screech and a beak almost crushed his head, and if he had not pulled his head in, it would have. The oviraptors had found them and were out for revenge.

Rip suddenly saw red, and charged out there. Her switch-blade claw met oviraptor neck and dug in. She then chased the other one away.

The two oviraptors retreated from the sudden attack, but returned, towering over the den, the male began to reach inside with his claws, while the female went to the back and began to dig. "Not good." Soro said, backing away from the large male.

Rip saw the digging female, and charged, screeching, "GET AWAY FROM MY EGGS YOU BIRD BRAINED FREAK!"

The female snapped at Rip, swiping her claws at her before sticking her head into the hole she made. Soro was busy holding back the male which had done the same at the front. Soro bit the male in the eye, then slashed the other eye. The male screeched and pulled out, meat ripping on Soro's teeth. The oviraptor was blind and quickly ran, leaving his mate stuck in the small hole, despite her attempts to pull out.

Rip raked the oviraptor from behind with her sharp claws. The creature struggled, it was obviously trapped. Rip circled around, and ripped open it's neck. The dinosaur stopped moving.

Soro licked over. "I see you killed a giant." He said with a smirk. "I'll be back." He then ran out and returned to the oviraptor nest. The male was guarding it as best as he could with his blindness. Soro grabbed a stick in his maw and tossed it as far as he could, attracting the oviraptor to the noise. Soro ate all the eggs but two, grabbing them and leaving an empty mound of dirt.

Rip pulled the creature out of the den. She axtiously went down to look at the eggs. They had obviously been knocked around, but there was no clear damage. She sat down next to them. It had been a long day.

Soro returned, maw covered with fresh yolk, one egg in his maw, the other in his claws. He set the one in his maw in front of RIp and kept the one in his claws to himself. "And that's the last of their eggs." He said before eating the egg.

Rip savored every last bite. She decided Soro could be trusted around their eggs, and relaxed a little, even letting him touch them.
