Eventually, Rip stuck her snout out of the hole. "Maby, but probably not," she said, and quickly retreated back inside.

Soro screeched in annoyance and kicked a furry thing that braved returning, sending it flying into a scrub bush and breaking its spine on a branch. Soro grabbed the thing in his mouth and chewed on it to cure his annoyance.

Finally, the next day Rip at least got halfway out the den. "Soro, come here," she said sweetly.

Soro was laying under a scrub bush, he layed there all night, flopping around uncomfortably until his feathers went from a dark brownish gray, to being sand colored, given it was the sand doing that. He stood and shook the sand and dirt off of him and walked over to the den. "Yes?" He asked, nuzzling against her to reform their strained bond.

"Come in here," she led him down into the den. In the nest, there were 5 greenish-white eggs.

Soro followed and stared at the nest. "When did we do that?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.

Rip chased him out of the den to get her some meat, she felt ravenous. She settled down next to the eggs, nudging them gently next to her to stay warm.

Soro yelped and ran for his life. "OKAY, I'M GOING, I'M GOING! DON'T BITE MY HEAD OFF!" He yelled and ran to the carcass. He returned later with the front of the protoceratops, chest and shoulders eaten into slightly, it was all that was left.

"Thanks, you wanna share?" she said when she saw it. She was only offering to be polite, she could easily eat the entire thing.

Soro was quick to grab a slab of meat and run for his life, he set it on the sand well away from the den. "Thanks!" He called to Rip before retreating to his bush with the meat.

Rip went back down into the den. She chewed thoughtfully on the meat. Of course Soro is a threat, she thought, but he acts like I'm gona eat him or something. (Maby i will )

Soro was thinking. She lays eggs over night and now he's a threat? Why would he kill his own young...they were his young, right?

Her cautiousness went way back, generations ago. In all carnivore species, even the raptors, fathers ate their children. Luckily, this doesn't happen anymore, but try telling the females. Rip got little stir crazy, she didn't usually spend so much time in the den. Eventually, she left the den, but didn't venture further than five feet from it.
