Cashew frowned. "Mizz Icey? Is she your mate?" She asked, dumbfounded.

Cashew felt her fur heat up. "I know he's a pup, Kip. Doesn't hurt to ask though." She grumbled to her invisible mate, a slight moodiness entering her voice.
...
The she-wolf's face lit up even faster than before. "Kip says it'd be good if we were friends," she yipped ecstaticly, a bit clueless on what a friend was.
But Kip said it would be good to have one, so it couldn't be bad, right?

Enzo cocked head and yawned. " No mizz Icy is my friend" He got another glimpse at his tail and gave it a pup growl. " Where do you live?" He trotted up to Cashew and whisperd " In a den?"

Cashew gave a tiny thoughtful frown and stared into the distance. "I haven't been inside a den for a few years now. I live wherever Kipper tells me too, though." Again, her facial expression changed rapidly to a goofy grin. "Lately, I've been sleeping in trees! Kip says trees are very safe places if you can find one with low branches," she recited with pride.

Enzo growled at his tail again. It is SO annoying, he thought. " In trees! Mom would freak out if I slept in a tree!" He giggled and lick the mommy-wolf ( She-wolf) On her cheek.

Cashew tensed slightly at the word Mom, her eyes glazing over for a moment before she snapped back into reality. "You've never climbed a tree before?" Her bi-colored eyes widened a bit at the thought. "It's so much fun! Kipper taught me how to the first time, and I was able to see for miles." Her words were exagerated- the reality of her first tree climb had been little more than a heavily leaning tree, and she had only been able to see a bit farther than she had from the ground. "Plus, your mom doesn't seem to care about you if she isn't here," the she-wolf's muzzle crinkled up slightly in distaste at the thought of a mother.
Mother's, in her expierence, were horrible beings who blamed their own pups for things they had nothing to do with.
Or at least, they thought they had nothing to do with it.

Enzo barked sharply. " Can you teach me?! Ohhh, You HAVE to!" Enzo got up and ran circles around the she-wolf.

Cashew thought about it for a minute before standing up partially, resulting in a sitting position and looking around the trees. There were many trees, but none were the right kind for tree climbing- at least for her size. These trees were all skinny and very leafy with thin branches pointed upwards, nothing like the huge trunked leaning trees of the mountains.
She gave a small regretful sigh, already missing her previous home.
"Normally I would, but none of these trees are climable for either of us. Too skinny for me, and the branches are too high up for you to be able to jump up."

Her eyes brightened at the silent words. "But Kip says I could show you how to walk on a branch if there's a log nearby!"

" Ok! Thank you sooooo much!" What is her name?, wonderd Enzo. ( Short term memory-loss) " What is your name?'

Cashew narrowed her eyes and slightly bared her teeth, a bit ticked. Is he mocking me? She then began to mentally argue with the possibilities, before remembering the pup was still there.
She blinked.
And then another goofy grin split her face, as if she had forgotten why she was mad. "Cashew! Cashew's my name, now c'mon so I can teach you!" The she-wolf barked happily over towards a log, about the right size for herself if it had been a tree branch.

Her eyes rolled. "I remember how to climb a friggin tree, Kip. Shut the heck up already."

Guilt clouded her eyes for a moment, before uttering a small apology to the empty air and hastily placing her paws on the base of the fallen trunk, tilting her paws slightly so the claws dug in a bit fiercer into the wood. "First you either gotta find a foothold, or if your claws are long enough, just dig 'em into the bark." She broke her speech for a moment to glance at the pup, as if to make sure he was paying attention. "You also gotta find the right tree- if the bark is gone or too hard, you won't be able to hold onto it. If the tree is rotting or the bark is too soft, you could slip right off and break your spine or neck or spleen or some other cool thing like that," her goofy grin altered to a more sadistic smirk before she turned back to her log, proceeding to walk along it with her paws line perfectly from practice.
"Next, make sure your paws are in the very middle of the tree. If you favor one side too much you'll lose your balance and fall. Start out slow at first, but once you get the hang of it you can eventually go faster." The tri-colored she-wolf then trotted down the log, her paws instinctively falling into place one behind the other, almost cat-like. After a few moments she was hopping off the other side and turned back to her temporary student. "Now you try!"

Enzo looked up at the mommy-wolf. " Are you sure?" He mumbled. He did it anyways. At first he stumbled then got the hang of it.

Ruby watched as the male wolf leap onto the fawn. She stayed well hidden in the bush until the wind shifted and her scent was blown toward the male.

Cashew trained her eyes on the pup, refusing to blink as he tried to copy her. His movements semed wobbly and his legs seemed to argue with him(After all, wolves didn't normally walk like cats; they had no reason to) as he crossed the trunk, but he seemed to gradually be getting better at it.
Of course, he had a ways to go; he was no where near as good as Cashew herself, but that was to be expected. A near three year's worth of climbing and sleeping in trees tended to help one's tree climbing skills.
