Childhood:
Childhood's not all that bad. But that depends on witch path you choose.


Lone Childhood~
Lone childhood is pretty scary, Like most prey, Everything wants to eat you. Geckos, Mice, Rabbits, Other birds, and herbivores like Elk won't eat you, But other things like mammals and snakes think you're a yummy snack. You'll have to take care of yourself. So, You can't clean yourself. You need to make sure everything is up all the time to avoid getting sick. Stay away from waste to prevent getting dirty and store up many seeds in empty holes and eat them till you grow.

Pros:
-No fighting over food
-Free food around the map
-The ability to explore instead of staying inside a nest
-Growing faster

Cons:
-No parents to bring you food
-No siblings to train on
-Dirtyness, A chance of getting sick
-Predators

NPC Childhood~
Now, This is easy yet hard. You get born into a fully built nest with 5-6 other siblings. Your Da brings food, Then guards the nest as your Ma gets food, Then Ma comes back and guards the nest while Da goes to get food. This circulates. To be a strong bluebird that is missed alot and can attack very well on predators, You'll need to challenge those of your family of same gender. Your parents will bring you food but your siblings will be quick to gobble it up in seconds. You'll need to wait your turn or be quick.

Pros:
-Parents bring you food
-Siblings to challenge
-Parents clean you

Cons:
-Fighting over food with siblings
-Getting dirty more easily - Sibling's waste
-Growth takes longer

Runaway childhood
Runaway childhood has barely any pros and cons. It's closely related to Lone Childhood, Except it takes longer to grow up.

Adulthood
So, You've finaly grown up, Eh? You can fly now. Lift up those Bob-forsaken wings and soar!

Survival~
Survival is the most important thing. Never land unless you're sure no predators are near. Surviving as a adult means you need to keep all your needs up! Make sure you're around a bluebird & insect filled environment!

Predators~

Here's a list of predators & friends.

Predators & Friends:
Bobcat - Enemy
Wolf - Rival
Coyote - Enemy
Bear - Intermediate
Goat - Defensive
Elk - Defensive
Buffalo - Really Defensive
Mouse - Friendly
Gecko - Friendly
Other birds - Friendly/defensive at times.

When your starting out as a chick, I recommend spawning into a NPC's nest, gaining Combat Skill by challenging/killing siblings and then getting out of there. Once you have around 1/3-1/2 combat, its easier to move around on the map and getting your own food than having to rely on NPC parents who will starve you.

Food Bluebirds can eat:
-Worms
-Ants
-Beetles
-Bees (caution, they sting!)
-Cicadas
-Grubs (Do they still exist? I can't find any on the map)
-Seeds
-Red Berries
-Blue Berries

Building the nest:
In order to build a 100% nest, you will need the following:
8 Straw
3 twig
1 stick

Good nesting sites:
-Tree branches
-Small Holes
-Tree Holes
(They could nest in anything, but most of them aren't safe)

Getting a mate:
NPC mates:
Males: challenge until you have 1/-Number of Males in this World-, preen, socialize and then approach the chosen female/s. If multi-mating, lead the female into the first nest THEN go and mate with another.
Females: Preen, socialize, then approach chosen male.

Real Player mates:
Socialize and request to mate. (You don't need any dominance for this, even if your male and you can be uber dirty)

Multi-mating:
Males- I recommend finding either 2-3 trees close together and building nest in limbs and holes, building nests in several holes close together, or finding a tree near a few holes.
Females- There isn't a way to multi-mate for females, as far as I've found.

Single Mating:
Males: start bringing food immediately for your offspring, as soon as your mate is in the hole.
Females: Bring food into the hole until your egg-o-meter is about 3/4 full, then stay on your nest till eggs are laid.
Both: Continue to bring food to your eggs/chicks so they will all get fed.

Most of the time, I multi-mate with around 4-5 females, and then destroy the male chicks in each clutch so the female only has to care for 1-3 chicks. Any female chicks that make the brood larger than three are moved to my own nest so I can make sure all chicks are taken excellent care of and I can get maximum number of points (300 for each female + bonus for condition) If one of my mates dies, then I feed that female's brood as well as the brood in my nest.

I know that they can be found when bears dig at logs.

Oh, okay. I remember that a couple months ago, I was with some friends and they were in a swarm over the rotting log during spring and summer, and then I only found one or two on the ground next to the log next spring after we had eaten the old swarm.

There's a very complicated way to multimate as a female.


Wait, it's not that complicated, but it's pretty hard compared to the male way.

Multimating is when you have more than one mate before the Season ends. For example, you can, as a male condor, mate with several females and having them each in separate dens/caves. It provides extra points for your animal when your children grow up.
