"It's the Great Wind," Xena told him calmly, " it swallows all on the surface, thats why we're under here."
She tried to comfort him, though in truth she was just as terrified.
"I've survived three Great Winds, all you need to do is hide."

"It won't come down here, will it?" he whispered, as if talking in a normal tone would alert the winds of their hiding spot.

"No, Tii, it won't come here. I don't know whether they're too stupid to look in burrows, or are just too lazy, but they never go underground," Xena assured Tii, "just stay here and we'll be fine."

((Thank you Foxesrule.))

A cold shiver ran through Zero's short pelt. His eyes widened a little, clearly not liking the cold. Zero made a little whimper, seeing if anyone could hear him. The cold of a tornado coming. He quivered trying to hide down into bushes, his little body cowering in fear. The bush seemed to scratch at his waist, while he cowered deeper. He tried to shelter from the cold, hoping everything would be fine and that he could seek a safe spot under the bush. He was not so sure though, the swirling splash of color seemed to tear at everything, and could possibly come to the bush. Closing his eyes, he crouched lower and curled up, making a sad little crying call for help.

Velvet was still alive, but in the Spiralwind. She didn't like it. She had been sick a couple of times, swirling around. She had tried to bite it, but she couldn't taste any flesh. Then she thought. It was probably an evil spirit- A demon. The Spiralwind was going to sleep now, and she was hurled out of it at full speed, and landed in her abandoned factory she lived in. She instantly turned unconcious.

The tornado stops, and the sun comes out.

Xena poked up her head to check what happened. All that was left of the shed was the floorboards.
"It's over, Tii, we'll be ok," she said.
Xena, as painful as it was, climbed out of the hole. She heard wimpering a distance away, and listened more closely.

Zero heard the loud wind sound stop. Pausing he sniffed the air. His head poked out, his eyes scanned the area. Tilting his head, he padded out wondering if any danger was around. He took a step forward then started sniffing, looking for food. Zero could not really find anything. The area was clean, he was only a little hungry, so he kept walking on. Trying to notice even the littlest bit of food he could find.

Tii nodded silently and followed the older fox out, before he halted in his tracks and completely forgetting what he was doing for a long moment. He shook his head and followed her once again.

Xena noticed Tii pause as he left the den. She looked at him closely, but found nothing wrong.
"Come," she said, "I have some food hidden somewhere around here."
Xena uncovered a couple hot dogs that she had hidden in the yard and gave one to Tii, still watching him.

He slowly, as if un-sure of his own actions, bit a small bite of the old hotdog and just as slowly chewed.

Xena showed no signs of supicion, but in her head she was puzzling over whether or not something was wrong with him.
I've never seen a fox eat so slowly, or have that blank expression. He could just be different, but I don't think so.
"Are you ok, Tii," she finally asked, "something the matter?"

He whiped his head up to meet her gaze and nodded with a small smile. "Of course," Tii replied. Ugh. I hate when I blank out. He thought with a frown.

Xena tilted her head.
"Well, if you say so,"
She looked around, seeing what the damage to the neighborhood was like.
"This Great Wind wasn't too bad, though food may be scarace for a while."

Tii gave a horrified look. "'Wasn't too bad'? you mean they can be worse than this?" he whined before taking another bite of the squishy hotdog.

"Yes, they can be, I've seen trees ripped out of the ground and twoleg homes torn off their foundations," replied Xena. She didn't want to scare him, but it was nessisary that he knew the power of the Great Winds.
"Do not worry, we are safe now."
