War, pollution and disease have taken their toll on the Earth and its' inhabitants. Once-great cities are crumbling away to dust and are now only a shadow of their former selves. Within them, what used to be thriving communities have been reduced to small underground societies, still trying to carve out a small portion of what was lost from the ruins above.
One of the few species of animals still living are dogs, man's best friend. This has been put to the test over the course of the past few years. They are a crucial part of life now, often helping in raids and foraging for food above ground. With the last of the human populace struggling to make it on their own with little or no leadership, skirmishes over resources are frequent and dogs trained for fighting are needed every day.
Wild dog packs are hunted and brought in, while ones born into the facilities undergo harsh training and often are pitted against each other as sources of entertainment. Dog's too weak for fighting or unhealthy for breeding are used as practice targets for dogs in training. Females are often used just for producing pups and nothing more, though they are usually kept clean and well-fed to ensure strong litters. Some, however, are not so lucky and are treated just as harshly as the males.
In all this chaos, some of the canines have begun to wish for a life other than their own, and hope comes in the form of tales from above. Shipments of wild dogs also bring new stories of lush forests beginning to grow. Rivers and streams skirt through the hidden lands beyond the ruins and fish inhabit their waters, finally beginning to rid their numbers of the various diseases caused by pollution.
It all seems like a world none of them will ever lay eyes upon, but it only takes one with the courage to try to begin the journey back to where they all belong.

After you have filled out the character form, read the rules and been accepted, you may begin roleplaying. There are multiple ways to begin, but knowing what each type of dog does and when may help you find a place to jump in.

Males, as mentioned above, are used for fighting and missions above ground such as sniffing out food and tracking enemy canines. A human will not accompany them outside of the facility due to the many hazardous toxins still lurking in the air of the city. They have found that the dogs are rarely affected by these things, thus making them their primary weapon. Most males are equipped with body-armor and sensors to indicate nearby enemies. The dogs are trained to understand certain sounds emitted from the sensors and respond accordingly, whether it's to find food or track down a vulnerable enemy. Males often fight with other dogs above ground alone and sometimes in packs. Many are capable of taking on multiple opponents at once without any help at all.

Able-bodied females are used in the same manner, but on a lower scale. They usually take missions early in the day, when fewer dangers are lurking above ground. They also are trained to avoid fighting other canines unless it is necessarily. Flight should always be the first considered option. For this reason, the females in training art taught to climb and move swiftly over obstacles such as broken down cars and find shelter in small pipes. They are masters of stealth and agility, easily outrunning the bulkier males.
Females unfit for battle are used for breeding and caring for pups. The rooms in which they are kept are quiet and clean, but social interaction with one another is forbidden. This causes many of the dogs to become lonely and often get attached to their pups who are taken away as soon as they are weaned.

Any dog with an illness such as deafness, mutations, blindness, etc. are used as practice dummies for the training canines. They are often muzzled and any retaliation is met with harsh reprimanding unless authorized. They are fed and kept somewhat taken care of, but they are the last priority in the facilities and precious food goes to the training dogs and breeding females first.

There is also strict schedule followed every day.
- 5:00 am: The dogs' collars begin the wake-up alarm, a shrill beeping that can only be stopped by arriving at the feeding rooms.
- 5:10 am: The dogs are all fed, females and are separated and forbidden to interact.
- 5:20 am: The collars begin the training signal and all dogs are moved to the Training Room. Females often start with obstacle courses and tracking, where males will be given a practice target to warm up on.
- 5:50 am: Actual training ensues. This means fighting other Working Dogs and taking assessments. Assessments are harder courses that can last hours and are built to test a dog's strengths.
- 5:50: Graduated Working Dog's are also sent out on missions at this time. These are primarily scouting missions for the females.
- 7:00: The first of the GWD (Graduated Working Dog) packs are deployed. These are mostly packs of five to ten battle-trained males sent to take over areas where early female scouting parties discovered resources. Battles are almost unavoidable and can consist of twenty dogs at a time.
- 9:00 am: A second deployment is sent out and the first are called back.
- 12:00 am: All dogs are called back.
- 5:00 pm: Female scouting parties are deployed.
- 9:00 pm: The scouting parties are called back.
- 9:30 pm: All dogs are fed, bathed and watered before taken to their kennels for the night.

NOTE* I'm not going to watch everyone like a hawk to make sure they follow this. I probably won't follow it completely, but if anyone is stuck on what to do next, we can always look back here and pick a time and go from there.

◘ Character's Name:: Ayashe
◘ Gender:: Female
◘ Age:: 3 Years
◘ Breed:: Border Collie/Akita mix
◘ Picture or Description:: Click (Without the purdy bandanna, unfortunately.)
◘ Illnesses:: Going blind
◘ History:: Ayashe was one of the first hundred dogs to be taken into the facility and begin training. She has developed a specialty for daylight missions and scouting but now that her eyes are beginning to go, she faces the possibility of being pulled from the Trained canine ranks and put into Breeding or Practice.
◘ Personality:: She's very determined, which is seen by most as stubbornness and defiance. Towards friends and family, she's defensive and loving, though she's not keen on showing affection openly and hates for anyone to see that side of her. There are a select few that she might feel slightly responsible for and will try to protect them. Dominance is something she might seek if she sees an opportunity, but Ayashe can be a valuable and loyal member to any pack without being top dog.
◘ Other:: None.

◘ Character's Name:: Knero
◘ Gender:: Male
◘ Age:: 3 years, almost 4.
◘ Breed:: I don't know. Let the expertAya make that up for me.
◘ Picture or Description:: (Coming Soon, but look at my avatar for a small reference.)
◘ Illnesses:: None that I can think of.
◘ History:: Used to have an every day partner, a human, that he had lived with all his life. They trained together, the human settling in on a sort of armor for Knero as he grew older. Kero's armor is one of a kind because his owner made it specially made by his best friend of which specialized on this sort of armor for dogs. It was unique, though challenging to make, however kept him safe and it was made to be lightweight to keep him more agile.
◘ Personality:: He's generally quiet, though can be playful and quite friendly. He seems to be more around the dominant side of things, though he knows when to keep himself as a loyal companion. He always attempts to make everyone at least an acquaintance.
◘ Other:: He lives with a group of dogs of which handle things a rather different way. The females are dominant. In fact, the lowest dominant female is considered more dominant than the highest ranking male. The males are pretty much the tools that help hunt the food and fight for their group. The dominant female chooses most of the sociability between others.

◘ Character's Name:: Blair
◘ Gender::Female
◘ Age::2 and a half
◘ Breed:: Siberian Husky
◘ Picture or Description:: Blair looks exactly like her twin brother Blaine, a black and white husky with a short stocky build.However Blair's right eye is blue, whereas Blaine's left eye is blue. Other than that, Blair is a very ordinary looking Husky. Her collar is purple.
◘ Illnesses:: Blair is Schizophrenic, often hearing the voice of her twin when they are apart.
◘ History:: Blair and Blaine are identical twins, and were both raised in the training faculty together. Blair and Blaine only see eachother very briefly during breakfast, and even then, they're not even allowed to speak. Blair gets very anxious when she doesn't see Blaine at breakfast, because she's scared of her twin getting murdered.
◘ Personality:: Blair may look like her twin, but she is nothing like him. Blair doesn't care about her own safety, but will get very anxious knowing somebody else isn't safe. She's a lot stockier and slower then the other females, but is a lot stronger which makes up for it.
◘ Other::

((OOC: REJECTED BOTH I HATE YOU GAIS GO AWAY!))

The sudden beeping of Ayashe's collar made her eyes snap open to the morning gloom of the kennels. I'll never get used to that thing, she thought disdainfully, left ear twitching at the shrill sound. The kennel doors automatically opened, giving the dogs passage to the breakfast hall. Ayashe studied the long tunnel that led to the large white room where their food awaited them. She sighed and closed her eyes, concealing the blue gaze for a second because standing up and stretching. The mutt shook herself and stepped out of her kennel. "C'mon girls, get up. You know how they are when we're late!" She got a few groans in response, but most of the females were getting up by then. Ayashe didn't know when it happened, but for some reason the newer recruits had begun looking to her for leadership. The thought made her frown and turn away from the waking group to trot down the hallway. She didn't want them to rely on her, so she figured it was best she didn't linger.
The tan canine halted at a large metal doorway and waited for the beep to show she had been accounted for, then proceeded to find her bowl. Each dog was given a certain area for dining to ensure that all got the same amount and no stealing was to take place. Being a graduate, her bowl was one of the first to be fill and sat in the far left corner. She liked it there where no one could sneak up on her. With two walls behind her and the whole cafeteria ahead, she was able to keep track of everyone's whereabouts.
She watched the few people in charge of filling the dog bowls and wondered idly if she had been assigned morning scouting or training. Ayashe hoped for the former. A breath of fresh air would do her good.

Blair lifted her head to the sound of her beeping collar. She'd been awake for a few hours, she'd always been an early waker. As the door to the breakfast room opened, she got up from her bed and walked towards the breakfast hall. She was hoping for something nice and flavorsome for breakfast this morning, but was expecting bland kibble. When she reached the metal hallway she stopped momentarily, waited for a beep and then continued once the beep had sounded. She was one of the last to leave the kennels, she liked getting in there when most of the dogs had finished. She walked up to a bowl with the numbers "83" carved onto it. And began to nibble on the boring kibble. When she'd finished eating the food she looked around the breakfast hall, maybe she'd see Blaine.

Blaine could hear his collar beeping but didn't want to wake up. After a few minutes of trying to ignore the annoying noise, he got out of his kennel and proceeded to the breakfast hall. He walked up to his bowl, which was full of soggy jelly-like meat which he ate, despite the horrible taste. Blaine was excited to go out on a mission today, he was in the mood for fighting.

Knero's eyes fluttered open, the gentle shove of a fellow female friend stirring him. "Thanks" He murmured, eyes obviously tired. If he were a human, they would be horribly sagged and dark purple. Yawning, the male slowly picked his sluggish body up, feeling 20 times his normal weight for some odd reason. He blinked hard, forcing himself to wake up. The only thing that really made him get up was that whenever he wakes up, it always meant food. And he loved food. Loved it. To death. Food. Yum food. Need food. Gotta have it. Knero drooled, luring himself toward the scent of the meat he wanted to munch on forever. As soon as he was given food, he stuffed his face in it, nomming and munching for as much food his stomach could store. After his lovely breakfast, he would return to putting on his armor and getting ready to practice. It was mostly like the groups that withheld humans, however done completely by independent dogs.. with female dominance wrapped around there somewhere. The dark male paced to his room, reaching to his armor and clicked on a button. It opened on the floor. He then lay his back on the armor, positioned himself under it, and pressed the button again with his paw. It closed neatly on himself. Done with the body armor, the next part was the head armor to protect his ears and neck. He used a nail to press on a button, then lowered his head against the opening metal. Once lowered, he pressed the button once again and the armor closed in on his fur. He moves his head around, making sure none of his fur is stuck so that it wouldn't distract him later. The final thing would be his paw armor, of which would greatly sharpen those claws of his as well as protect from icy areas and whatever else may be lying on the ground these days. There was a lot of rubble and fallen houses laid neatly on the ground, and so having protection on one's paws would be one of the best dreams any dog would ever want to acquire.

((OOC: LOL All my posts have been flower (I wish the censor didn't make me look like a complete idiot...) because it's so late and I'm just not in the mood. They'll be a lot better tomorrow.))

Ayashe watched silently as the last of her comrades trickled from the cafeteria and headed towards their training areas. She looked at her food and sighed, not in the mood for dried kibble today. Footsteps made her sit up and back away from the silver bowl. A human reached down and scooped it up, eyeing her questioningly for a moment. When she didn't whine or indicate she wanted it back, he shrugged and carried it off.
After watching him go, the small Akita mix turned and bounded towards the next doorway labeled 'TRAINING AREAS' and slipped through the metal dog door. Before entering the room, she was fitted with a black harness. It felt good to have the familiar weight on her and Ayashe felt the years of training begin resurfacing in that moment as they always did. Someone patted her head and allowed her in to the dusty circle. It was at least a hundred yards across and lit by the huge glass roof above. The sunlight felt wonderful on her tan and white fur and she gave herself a moment to relish it. Then someone snapped at her from the edge of the circle and she looked to her right to see a large male stalking towards her. She snorted and growled at him, earning a heated snarl in return. With a sly smirk, the small female turned and headed for the large obstacle course. It was simple compared to the things she actually traversed in the city above, but it would do for a warm up.
Single bar jumps were cleared with exquisite grace and weave poles showed no difficulty. She especially enjoyed trotting swiftly along the metal bars, only wide enough for one paw at a time. They required balance and quick thinking, two things that were also crucial when out in the field. Having finished the small course, Ayashe plopped down to catch her breath before padding towards one of the large trough-like water containers for a drink.
Suddenly her collar began bleeping again, but the pitch was different. She grinned and sat back, looking forward to her scheduled Morning Run that would begin in about half an hour.

Blair gave up looking for Blaine when she heard the training signal. Today Blair was going to train in a simulated emergency. She quite liked doing emergency drills, they were exciting.She padded towards the metal dog door, which beeped as she walked squeezed through it. It almost felt like she was in another world outside of the dog door. It was misty and the ground was covered in rubble and scrap metal. This place was purposely as dangerous as possible, so that the dogs knew exactly what to do. Blair had done this same drill a week a go, so she went through the course pretty quickly. Dodging falling pieces of debris as she jumped over things. Her aim was to get to the center, which is supposed to be the facility. She got there easily, as she'd done this same thing a hundred times. It was getting a little repetitive.

Blaine finished his canned meat and walked towards the training room, where he began running on a treadmill, gradually getting faster. He continued doing this, until he became tired and took a break, so that he'd be ready for the real training.

A low beeping called for everyone in another room. Knero turned around to follow the sound, then followed the pack of dogs in front of him. A meeting. In the room was the dominant female followed by two alpha females standing next to her, all of them watching as the other lower dominance males and females sat down before them. "We're skipping practice today." The leader told them with her indifferent voice. She had an amazing build for a female. Despite this, she was still so slick and stealthy, he didn't get the physics about her. She could tear any one of us a part, and she definitely had not only the power, but the will to do so. We've seen it before, all of us. If you don't bow before her respectfully, your head is piked next to our run down building for all others to see when they walk out. "Today we're going to hunt longer than usual. There's not a lot of food left in our storage, and, boys, you like food, don't you?" She grinned, and Kenro was probably the only one nodding like he was waving hair back and forth to some rock music. The leader couldn't help but release a smirk upon her lips. "Go." She ordered, and everyone scurried out, the males reaching toward the door and females huddling together to talk about stuff.
As soon as Knero walked out of the door, a wave of musky air hit him. This happened every time, and that was probably the worst part of this place. He's always surprised how his eyes doesn't just fill with dirt or debri because of how thick this air is wit it. He shook himself, the armor shaking with him. If he wasn't so strong and full of amazing balance, he'd be wobbling to one side eventually and be unable to get back up. With a growl came a voice activation, releasing a spiky line from just before his ears to down his back, ending just before the tip of his tail. The tail had three straps wrap around it so that the top part of the armor wouldn't loosen up. He paced toward one end of their territory. He was basically a guardian of his team of dogs. While he was guarding, he was also hunting when he could. Sniffing the ground hard, he caught scent of stray rabbit. With most armor a dog would have to crouch, however Knero's specially made armor allows flexibility in its character with usually not much crouching needed to keep everything silent. He also viewed it as a bad way to present yourself if an enemy were to waltz right into your territory. Crouching can be the result of not showing dominance, and although we do probably crouch in fear in this group, all the others don't, and they might see you as a punching bag. All Knero has to rely on is the area around him, because of the falling debri every once in a while. It forced him to spring for the scared prey he'd attempt to catch. He carefully sniffed at a corner of the dumpster. It seemed like the rabbit was close. Maybe the other side will do. Readying himself, the male carefully lunged himself to the other side, not giving the rabbit any time to react as he pounced after it and jaws open, biting at a pile of dust and disappointment.

Ayashe was too absorbed in her drink to register the footsteps behind her. Suddenly a rough pair of hands grabbed her by the harness and yanked her back. Fury welled up inside her and she turned with white teeth bared to sever those hands from their owner. He instead got a mouthful of protective armor and immediately let go, jaws smarting from the sudden contact. The small canine bristled and continued to growl lowly under the boy's arm, but he simply ignored her. Eventually she gave up and slumped in his hold, scowling pitifully. Rookies! They have no idea about how to treat us graduated dogs, she thought with an annoyed sigh.
Finally he put her down and clicked a button on her collar. This would ensure the training instructors didn't send a whole search party after her when she didn't show up for training later.
The harness came off for a moment and on went a black protective vest. It was heavy but she had been trained to carry the weight and still be able to preform quickly out in the field. The lighter colored harness went back on over and a chain was attached somewhere behind her neck. Ayashe shook herself and then stretched, making sure the gear had been donned correctly, then followed the new person walking her down the hall towards what she called The Chutes. They were small, black metal doors that only opened and closed to the dog assigned to them. The lady holding her chain typed in Ayashe's number on a keypad above the chute and then unhooked her. Ayashe wasted no time, so as soon as the door was opened wide enough for her to slip under and out, she was gone.
Dry earth skidded beneath her hard paw pads, tough and worn from years in this land. She awaited the customary signal from her black collar to assign her a mission, but none came. She looked around with a confused expression. "But that means I have a partner. I never have a partner," she muttered to herself. Then something occurred to her and she frowned. Do they think my eyes are so bad I can't do my own missions anymore?
Ayashe wanted to strut off and show them exactly what she was capable of, but she knew that whoever was being put out here with her wouldn't be able to just sit tight until she got back. With a sigh, the Border Collie mix plopped down and glared at the line of chutes, waiting for one to open up.

It took what seemed like a while to cough and hack out all the filthy dust Knero bit into. What a dumb mistake. Eyes drifted to the right, noticing the rabbit having trouble hopping over all the debri filling the streets. Excitement made his body jump up, then pivot himself to target the struggling rabbit. Being much bigger meant not having to hop over all the debri. He pounced after it, grabbing onto the now squealing rabbit with his sharpened claws. After biting into its flesh, he left it next to the dumpster to remind himself of it later. He knew where he was due to his mental map. The male seemed bored after a while, as there was kind of nothing to do. This part of the area didn't have a lot of prey, most likely due to the other group nearby them.

When Blair's collar started beeping again, she knew it was time to put her Armour on and then head towards the actual training. She walked up to a person waiting by the entrance to the breakfast hall. She barked at him and sat down, waiting for him to retrieve her custom-made armour. He returned to her with a thick black vest. He slipped it onto her and then put a red harness on her. He put her on the leash and led her towards a room that had electronic black doors on the walls. These doors were the pathway to the outside, where she would be doing a mission. The human registered her on a keypad above the black door. He took her off the lead, petted her for good behavior and patted her on the back, signalling her to go through. As she squeezed through the door she found herself standing next to Ayashe, that dog everybody seems to follow in the kennels. She barked at her, wondering why such a successful dog was doing with a partner. Her collar beeped twice, but she ignored it, waiting for Ayashe's response.

Blaine followed the other dogs to their respective humans. The armour he was given was extremely bulky, he was a little nervous because of this. Bulky armour was only given when he was going to fight somebody. He brushed of the worry, he'd probably just be fighting some disabled dog anyway.

Ayashe jumped at the sudden movement from the chute next to her own. She silently watched the other dog for a moment then sighed. Maybe she could use the help. The beeping of her collar made her stand up and look east. They were to check the Eastern Border for intruders. "C'mon. I don't know why you're out here, but those bush dogs are snooping around again and you might as well make yourself useful," she growled, shaking herself once and then bounding forward, stepping quickly but lightly on the dusty sand-like terrain so her paws didn't sink. Ayashe forced herself not to look back to see if the other was following. She doesn't need me watching her every move. They wouldn't partner me up with a softpaw, the mutt told herself.
Heat wasn't a problem for the small dog. She had large ears and light fur, two keys to keeping cool out here. Her nose worked endlessly, trying to make up for the slight blurring in her vision. The she-dog hopped onto a car hood to get a better look at the terrain, which was mostly flat with a few buildings and scrubs. The insane beeping of her collar told her she was close to the wild canines, but she couldn't see anything. Swallowing her pride, she barked quietly back at the other. "Hey rookie! Let's see how well you recognize our enemies. See anyone unfamiliar?"

Blair's thick fur would usually be a huge burden out here, but it had been trimmed extremely short so she felt pretty comfortable. As she followed the tan female, she was being shot with a few very rude remarks. She just ignored them, and followed the dog up to a car, which she leaped onto with ease. She looked around, not seeing any dogs, just debris and buildings. "I don't see anybody, but I can smell rabbit flesh, maybe a dog killed it" she replied, trying to be helpful to the seemingly grumpy dog.

The larger male sniffed about on his little territory, not noticing much other than that rabbit. There were other various but very old scent marks of mice, rats, raccoons, and even skunks around here. He lurred himself back to the rabbit, keeping a mental note not to lose track of where it was. Blinking from the amount of debri attacking his eyes, Knero began to pad off a little ways, feeling like this debri was like some sort of fog, or it was actually somehow raining debri. The wind had picked up since this morning, and so the debri could very easily fly with it. The alpha would be heavily snappy at him if he didn't find enough food, however. It was easy to be afraid of her. He shut his jaw tight, eyes looking from right to left at the sudden moment of panic as to what he should do to find more prey. The male began to heavily sniff the area for anything and see if their tracks would end up being more fresh, some of which seemed more recent, but not recent enough. He sighed, back on his way toward the rabbit he left.
