Talin yawned as a new sun rose over the Himalayas. As a tiger, it was Talin's responsibility to keep up the food chain as well as any tiger should do so. "Well, time for breakfast." Talin yawned as he walked out of his cave. The area was already up with noises. Talin didn't mind this, for this gave him an advantage at hunting for his favorite prey; the sambar. He jumped down onto a trail made by elephants and started to look for a fresh trail of prey. Quickly, he caught a fresh scent of an injured sambar. Talin trotted to a hiding spot and waited to see if he could spot the injured deer. He watched a rhino wallowing in the mud. Then he paid attention to a large male sambar. Reconizing it as the wounded sambar, he quickly pounced, chomping on the throat of the deer, killing it. After that, he dragged it back to his cave and feasted on the carcass. Talin threw the leftovers on the elephant trail, leaving it to scavengers. Back to the cave, Talin yawned and fell asleep.

Ella pounces branch to branch looking for a nice snack. She jumped to a nicely sized tree which she naps and looks for food in the afternoon. She climbed to the top and picked some berries. Ella went down to the middle of the tree and stored the berries in a hole where her nest is. Someday I will raise cubs in this very hole, she smiles at the thought of cubs squirming around whining for food.

Jenna quickly drags her catch to the two giant rocks forming a den. The bengal tiger hides her meal in the corner and jump to the top of the rocks. She chuffs, and chuffs, making sure all tresspassers know that if they enter they will pay. She then goes back to the den and eats the hog. "Yum.... nothing like a nice hog after a run and a cool drink." she smiles to herself then curls up to sleep.

Talin yawned and got up, but froze when he heard gunshots and a female tiger's death roar. " Poachers." Talin gasped. It looked like the female's hide was to be sold to people.

[Hope]

"Mama!!" the cubs screamed. "Maaaa! No!" the cubs ran off to the trees. They hoped they would be safe. Once they reached the trees, they started to pant and the youngest, and weakest, started to cry. "Mama's gone..... we're never going to see her again!" he called. "SHHH! Other tiger's will hear!" the oldest growled then put a paw on his brother's head, "We'll be okay...."

Talin stared at the poachers laughing and talking about the hide that they got. Then they got up and drove off with the meat and hide. He then trotted to the area where the female had been killed. He heard voices and entered a small creek where he saw two cubs. One was white, and the other looked normal.

The cubs lied down in the grass sadly unaware of the adult male. The albino fell asleep curled beside his brother. He dreamt of poachers coming back and taking them but sold them to zoos.

Talin walked away, not seeing a sloth bear walking towards the cubs. He yawned and ran back to the den. After, he took a nap.

The deep orange cub awoke and smelled something wrong. "Wake up!!" he swatted at his brother. "Wake up!" he nudged his brother head up, "Uhh.... wha- why'd you wake me?" he asked. "Something or someone is near.... come on!" he urged his brother to hsi feet. The young albino slowy awoke and padded after his brother. "Oh no. It''s a sloth bear..." the albino fell to his paws in panick. "HELP! Someone help us!" the albino yelled. "Don't worry bro, i'll take him." the cub ran up to the sloth bear and clawed the snout of the sloth bear.

Talin got up and looking around. Noticing another trail, he decided it was lunch. It was a water buffalo carcass, being eaten by a small gavial. Scaring it off with swipes, Talin started to eat the carcass.
