Amber watched the sun go down. Perfect, prey were less watchful because most of them were asleep. She scouted ahead, her eye shine showing. Amber caught the scent of Prenocephale and a few Gallimimus. She also caught the scent of a single juvenile Protoceratops. She decided to make a Prenocephale kill. A while later, Amber munched on her kill, a female Prenocephale. Amber soon went to her den and fell to sleep.

Evo noticed out was getting dark,"Daddy, I'm going hunting. Be back soon"he said

"Bit late isn't it?" Shale asked tiredly.

"No perfect time to steal eggs, parents are all asleep. Maybe hunt some sleeping furry things"he replied

"Hold on a minute, Evo, I know you're optimistic about your new talent but you see, creatures would protect their eggs with their lives. You need to practice stealth and learn how to defend yourself before I just let you go," Rip scolded the young chick. It was just to dangerous to be having real hunting trips with any of the chicks.

"Fine"Evo said he was ok with that he didn't want to get hurt

"Time for sleep little ones," Rip ushered the chicks into the den and lay down outside.

Evo quickly feel asleep, it had been a long day.

Shale stayed outside the den, glancing up at the sky. "Thank you." He said, looking at Rip with an odd expression.

"Your welcome, Shale. As I said, I don't leave others for dead," Rip said.

Soro was in the den, trying to get the chicks to lay down and go to sleep. They were being difficult and wouldn't go to sleep. "Fang, stop clawing the wall! Thorn stop tormenting your sister!" He yelled at the chicks before they finally fell asleep. Soro walked out of the den with his feathers ruffled and covered in dirt.

"They don't get easier as they get older, do they? They just get bigger and stronger," said Rip. She curled up beside her mate and fell asleep.

Soro nodded. "And it makes it all the worse for us." He said before beginning to preen.

Shale glanced at the two before deciding to go into the small den. The tw deserved alone time for now, and Shale was exhausted. He curled up silently by the chicks and fell asleep shortly after.
