fishermens topic

Post by animalguy888 »

(My fishing topic that I am recreating since we had the fourm move that I completely forgot about...)

A topic to celibrate fish. Some people may think fishing is just the large boat and net that damages our ecosystem. I describe as just a version of fishing,im talking about fishing by rod and reel. My vision of what fishing means is being outdoors and enjoying nature with family and friends. For those people who like to fish this is a topic to share photos of your greatest catches, talk about the kinds of lakes and rivers you go to, and the tackle you had most succsess with.(tackle means your hooks, lures, bait, bobbers etc.)

In the USA there are spicific laws for fishing. Created purely for the proction of the local wildlife. Most states in the USA have a website with infromation on these laws. Which includes fishing seasons, liscence info, all the rules and regulations etc. Examples of these sites are... http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/

http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/fishing.shtml http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/fishing.html http://www.dfg.ca.gov/fish/fishing/

To find the state website just google fishing in (put state here). It would most likely be similer to these sites.

Now that you know that there are rules to fishing I will share some of my fishing pictures.

No lie, my class went out fishing on our school's dock (we went to school right on the water. We saw dolphins!) and some girl managed to hook a dragonfly! Well, not really hook, but it was stuck to the hook. It was awesome. :D

My dad was talking to a senor fisherman the other day, and he recommended some lures for us to use to catch walleye. I think one was named a "slurpie". I was thoroughly convinced he just made a silly name up and was pulling our leg. But no, they exist. I'm eager to try them out, hopefully they'll draw in the walleye. C:

A few weeks ago we went to Clark Lake WA but we did not catch anything. The problem was that we did not know what was in the lake. Now after some research we learned the most commen fish there that you can catch is largemouth bass. these guys have huge mouths compared to there reletive and alike the smallmouth bass. They eat a large varrity as well and will devore almost any living thing that it can fit down its gullet. They say these are commenly caught. Here is I site I found that explains tips for bass fishing. http://www.iowadnr.gov/Fishing/FishingT ... shing.aspx
Nearly every bait or lure has probably caught bass at one time or another. Bass, like most fish, are opportunistic foragers and prey upon the most abundant and vulnerable food. Fish, crayfish, large aquatic and terrestrial insects, frogs, worms, and even small mammals and birds all have been found in bass stomachs.
I bought some tackle that works on bass as well as bait that I hear about people having sucsess with at this specific lake.

Ill share some photos of my tackle that I use.
