In order to properly put into perspective the idea of ever entering the water fall, I thought I could do some simple math.

I will be using Doom Dragon as an average example of a WEO player.

Doom Dragon currently has the highest overall score for WEO: 2,314,018
Doom Dragon joined the forum on: Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:21 pm

It has been 1068 days since Doom Dragon first joined the forum, counting today. To put that in perspective, that is 2 years, 11 months, and 2 days.
Assuming Doom did not play WEO before she joined the forums (which I understand is unlikely, but the most convenient way to calculate this), then she earned approximately 2,166.68 points per day.

Fact sheet on Fire Ants: http://game.webearthonline.com/weoapps/ ... =Fire_Ants
Total points required to play this animal: 999999999

For Doom Dragon to acquire 999,999,999 points in 2 years, 11 months, and 2 days (amount of time she's been on the forum), she would have to earn 936,329.587 points per day. That is 934162.907 more than she earned on average, or 431% more points per day.

At a rate of 2,166.68 points per day (which is reasonable), it would take 461,535.62 days to earn 999,999,999 points.
Let's assume life expectancy is 80 years (for the US it is 77 years). Converted to days, that is approximately 29,200 days of life (or 28,105 for the US).

461,535.62 days (estimated amount of time to earn enough points to play as a fire ant) / 29,200 days (approximate life expectancy of person in first world country) = 15.8

It would take approximately 15 lifetimes for a single person to earn enough points to play as a fire ant.

If people shared an account to get enough points, like in this project, I guess it's safe to assume it will take less lifetimes than that?

Gathering information on Fire Ants would still be interesting, though. Also, bare in mind that the math does not prove that it is not possible to play as a fire ant. It could still be done.

To lower the amount of lifetimes it will take, the number of points earned per day must rise.
If people share an account, and raise the amount of points earned per day higher than 2,166.68 (what I used in the example), then the time required to reach 999,999,999 will lower.

For another example:
To reach 999,999,999 points in a single year, 2,747,252.7445 points would have to be earned per day.

If this project aspires to reach 999,999,999 points on their shared account within a reasonable amount of time, then they should consider how many points they generate per day.

Ohmygosh, this got a lot of replies! :3
Thanks Alari~ I hate doing math, so I never would've done that myself, but actually it's quite interesting :3
Summer, I'll resend the info, and I'll send the info to everyone who volunteered to help :3

Well, I barley play now so the score is not likely to rise anytime soon...man, how did I get that many flippen points anyway? I wasn't trying or anything... :|

I understand that your score isn't a great example for a player who's still actively into the game, but it was the most accurate for how scores accumulate over long periods of time, making it a good index score.

Honestly, seeing a single account reach 999,999,999 points would be quite pleasing to me. c:

How long do you think it'd take to get to the goal?

For any estimation to be made, information about this shared account needs to be provided.

Such as:
Who, and how many, players are sharing the account?
How many points does the account currently have?
At what rate are points being earned?

I'd like to do the same as wild-child, I mean, I like getting points.

Especially if it's something like for this.

And I volunteered to help..Kind of.

Username: WolfPawPrints
In-game name: WolfPawPrint
What Project you will be involved in (or both): Both
What Position you want (listed above): Studying the fire ants.
What would make you a good choice?: I have all the animals, not including the advanced game ones. I play almost everyday so you shouldn't have to worry about telling me to go find some fire ants and work.

Oh, And I might not be APART of the project but a saw rank one male fire ant, pretty healthy. So I am assuming that rank ones don't really get attacked.
