I agree with Foxesrule; red age is in no way unaturual. I've seen npc's get to half full on red age- those ants were probably just lucky about not getting killed by some random animal.
Plus, we don't know how fast the ants age. Maybe someone should figure out how long it takes for them to get to a quarter, half, 3 quarters, and so on?
Sidenote: I am willing to help anyone from this account raise their young. I can be either a wolf or hawk so whichever you want(though I'm more than likely going to be the hawk since I don't want my wolf to run out just yet).

That's a good point star wolf. The ants might be skilled. But still it is highly unlikely to find one of these old ones that is a fireant (at least from my expierence). I've also looked at the screenshot again and noticed something. The fire ants don't have a name. All playble NPC characters have names. Also all the real players have names. This leads me to four possibilities.
1. Maybe there is glitch for fire ant names.
2.Fire ants are just a product left over from a unrealesed version of the game. (Such as when they were designing it.) The developers decided that it would be a nice edition to the game, but they never finished it.
3. Someone on the staff is playing as fire ants. They could potentially have the power to do this. (However this is unlikely.) Not just as one fire ant group though. The whole species of fire ants.
4. There is actually a secret.

The waterfall cave might also be a left over of a previous beta version before the release. It just didn't get fully removed. However we can hope that it does have a secret.

Those are good points and theories.
I recently had a fireant invade my burrow(I wasn't raising any chicks though) and I left it be, just watching. It left a couple minutes after, but I did manage to see that it was in its prime age(about halfway on the circle, and when I saw it it was around 2/3 through fall) and it's max health was 1.0 and it was a male.
Also I noticed that it's combat bar was filled EXACTLY to the halfway point. Strange, considering how violent these things seem to be.
So I went to look for more ants to see if this was coincidence or not.
I found an old female(her circle was nearly all white, and her health was .6) and her combat was also filled exactly to the halfway point.
This is really weird, 'cause I noticed that foxes/wolves/other predators tend to climb up in combat rather quickly after leaving the den- and fireants seem to behave like predators. So, maybe there's a cap on how much combat they can have? And if this is so, would that cap also be used on real players(assuming that it is possible to be a red ant) or is it just for NPCs?

Sorry for not posting in the form, but can I be a forum searcher? I'm addicted to this forum...
Anyway, I'll be good at staring at the waterfall cave to see if fire ants go in and out. It heals age sickness most of the time if you drink from it, and my animal is in red age.

Yeah, just drink from the waterfall. Sometimes you need to go to the lake aswell though. On my other now-dead red age animal, I only died because I didn't get there in time and a coyote had hit me... >_<

Well, the age sickness comes back a little while after. So when I'm in red age, I make my den as close to the waterfall as possible.

Do you remember how many? It might be possible that the baby fire ants try to kill each other or their parents, which would really set them apart from npc animals.
