Holes/Caves Dissapeared

All the holes/caves dissapeared, except the ones that were always there. So a few days ago I got on. I was where a cave was supposed to be. There was no cave! I went a little further there used to be holes everywhere! But they were gone! I'm really confused! Can someone please explain?

I think WEO sometimes resets the amount of caves/holes in the ground to make sure that there isn't too many around. If it were never checked, I couldn't imagine the amount of holes in each square. xD

Holes and caves that are dug out by players are semi permanent.
There was some maintenance work done and a reset of the worlds which cleared out the temporary ones.

It would be so much better if we could do that ourselves, though. There should be an option to refill holes. Still, I was wondering where my traditional fox hole had gone off to...
