Granted because the already don't. A creature with the body of a human but the tail of a fish does not exist. For that a human would have to breed with a fish. Not only is that just plain weird but is genetically impossible as a genetic codes are so different that hybridization is not possible. You have a better chance in the existence of a chimp/human hybrid than a Human/fish hybrid such as a mermaid. That is because are genes are more similar to that of chimps than that of fish making a man that is half chimpanzee more possible than a mermaid.

Besides, it's possible that they could exist, if the correct conditions allowed for it. Apes that went to live in water rather than land. (look at whales, from land to water.) But it obviously has not happened.

Partially Granted. laws that prohibit taking endangered species become more strict. However poachers can not be completely stopped as since we are only human there will continue to be both good and evil. So poachers, murderers, and evil dictators like Hitler shall continue to exist.

( DNA is like the hard drive on a computer. It contains the code that determine what the organism is. The DNA of the whales ancestor slightly altered itself through the coarse of a thousand generartions slowly transforming from land mammal to marine mammal. However fish derive from fish not mammals. The DNA of the fish and the mammal be it human or whale is so different that it is impossible to produce a hybrid. A whale can't breed with a shark, a shark can't breed with a seagull, and a Human can not breed with a fish. Also Apes have always been land creature because the ancestors had no reason to enter the water. Food was plentiful they had plenty of ways to escape predators. There is not even any garrentee that the would be human or mermaid like.)

Wish Granted But Humans are still in the caveman era and none of us have computers, houses, or any modern comforts, because there was no need for them to discover they can cook with fire. When Caveman discovered the could more effectively digest protein rich meat by cooking it over a fire the could feed themselves more effectively allowing them to focus on other things like forming human civilization. So... The fact that humans eat meat basically gave us the ability to be smart enough to build Skyscrapers and type on computers. Praise the meat! For your wish just ruined civilization since we never became smarter then cavemen!
